Alma and Mike. I feel like a broken record every time I try to write something about these two but I just keep coming back to an overwhelming feeling of gratitude and love. It feels like I've known them my entire life when in reality it's only been about a year since we connected. From Alma's first enthusiastic email, I knew they were going to hold a special place in my heart.
It was an absolute honor to document the wedding of two such genuine, kind, generous, beautiful, soulful humans. My cheeks hurt from smiling and my heart was so full after witnessing such a beautiful day. Sotterley Plantation in Hollywood, Maryland could not have been more perfect -- it threatened to rain but held off all day, giving us ample time for portraits and giving the flowers in the outdoor ceremony garden light to shine in.
Some highlights: Alma and Mike had written each other notes to read before they saw each other; Alma set up a mini bar (very aesthetically pleasing too, I might add) for the guys since their outdoor preparation spot did not have AC; both of them were grinning fools before their first look and could not keep their kisses to themselves (WHICH I AM ALL ABOUT) afterwards; the ceremony was full of tears and laughs and giggles and love; we snuck out for some sunset portraits in a beautiful golden field, where some friends helped with a confetti shot.
Thank you both, so so much, for allowing me into your story. It is an honor and I am humbled to have photographed your love.
